I’m partnering with a rapidly growing technology organisation in Belfast that’s building a next-generation engineering platform. They are looking for a skilled and motivated Site Reliability / DevOps Engineer to join their team and help deliver highly reliable, automated, and scalable platform services.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on core platform architecture, automation, and production operations within a collaborative, high-energy environment. The role offers exposure to modern cloud technologies, containerisation, and enterprise-grade systems at scale.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own architecture, design, implementation, and production operations for core platform services.
  • Enhance reliability by implementing automation, self-healing, and real-time monitoring across systems.
  • Contribute to provisioning, configuration, deployment, and support of platform services.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to prototype, develop, and improve platform capabilities.
  • Innovate solutions to complex infrastructure challenges and prevent recurring issues.
  • Design, develop, and deploy software to improve scalability, efficiency, and availability.
  • Support capacity planning, performance analysis, and system tuning for distributed services.

Required Experience / Skills

  • Proven experience operating and developing large-scale, distributed services or applications.
  • Containerisation experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos, or similar.
  • Infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Packer, or equivalent.
  • Cloud orchestration and platform support experience.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git, SVN), and automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab Runners, Rundeck).
  • Strong scripting skills for deployment automation (Bash, PowerShell, or similar).
  • Knowledge of cloud computing, networking, monitoring, and data processing.
  • Proficiency in a modern programming language (Python, Java, C++, or equivalent).
  • Experience with fault-tolerant, high-throughput, scalable distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience operating services in major public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent).
