I’m working with a technology organisation based in Northern Ireland that delivers complex digital transformation and workflow solutions for public- and private-sector clients. As the team continues to scale, they are seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer with deep expertise across Microsoft Dynamics 365, M365, Azure, and Power Platform to help design and deliver modern, high-impact enterprise solutions.
This role sits at the intersection of architecture, client engagement and hands-on solution delivery—ideal for someone who enjoys shaping technical direction while collaborating closely with project teams and end customers.
The Opportunity
You’ll work across major transformation programmes, advising on solution design, leading technical implementation activities, and ensuring that delivered solutions are robust, scalable and aligned with client objectives. You’ll also contribute to pre-sales, demonstrations and proof-of-concept work, helping position the organisation as a trusted technical partner.
What You’ll Do
- Lead customer-facing sessions to understand business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications.
- Work with Project Managers, Business Analysts and Developers to determine the most effective implementation approach—configuration, custom development, or integration of third-party components.
- Architect, estimate, design and implement solutions built on Dynamics 365, M365, Azure and Power Platform using established patterns and best practices.
- Continually build knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem to propose modern, innovative approaches for clients.
- Support pre-sales activities by developing prototypes, demos and proof-of-concepts.
- Ensure work is delivered to quality standards and industry-aligned methodologies.
Essential Experience
- Strong, demonstrable experience delivering solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Proven experience with SharePoint Online and the broader M365 suite.
- Hands-on experience with Power Platform components (Power Apps, Power Automate, etc).
- Comfortable working within Agile delivery environments.
- Confident engaging directly with clients to shape requirements and achieve effective outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Professional communication style with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to work within deadlines and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Fast learner who can absorb new technical concepts and apply them quickly.
Desirable
- Relevant Microsoft certifications across Dynamics 365, Azure or Power Platform.
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years continuous UK residency (required for security clearance).
- Willingness to work from the Belfast office, at home, and occasionally on client sites.
- Alignment with a client-centric, quality-focused delivery ethos.
Reporting Line
Works closely with the Head of Professional Services or designated Project Manager.
Location
Belfast-based role with hybrid working and occasional travel.
