Location: New York City (5 days onsite)
Salary: $180,000 – $250,000
Employment: Full-time, Permanent
The Opportunity
We’re working with an exciting AI technology business that’s looking to hire its first Staff Product Manager in New York City.
Our client is building cutting-edge AI agents that help some of the world’s largest organisations transform how they manage complex business processes, documents and enterprise data.
Originally backed by leading venture capital investors and subsequently acquired by a major enterprise software company, the business combines the pace, autonomy and innovation of an early-stage startup with the resources and customer base of an established global technology organisation.
This is a genuinely influential opportunity to work directly with the founding team, take ownership of product strategy and help shape the next generation of enterprise AI products.
The Role
As Staff Product Manager, you’ll take ownership of the product roadmap, working closely with founders, engineers and customers to build and scale sophisticated AI-powered software.
You’ll be joining a small, highly technical team where product decisions are made quickly, experimentation is encouraged and individual ownership is significant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for an enterprise AI platform.
- Lead the development and delivery of AI agents, LLM-powered features and intelligent automation.
- Work closely with engineers on technical architecture, model behaviour, evaluations and performance.
- Translate complex customer requirements into clear product priorities and deliverables.
- Drive products from initial concept and prototyping through to production deployment.
- Establish product processes, prioritisation frameworks and success metrics.
- Use modern AI development tools to accelerate prototyping, experimentation and delivery.
- Work directly with the founders to influence technical and commercial product direction.
What We’re Looking For
We’re particularly interested in technically strong Product Managers who have developed their foundations within established software or technology organisations before gaining experience in AI-focused environments.
Essential experience:
- 5+ years of dedicated Product Management experience, ideally within B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
- A strong, demonstrable track record of owning and delivering production AI or LLM-powered products.
- Experience working closely with engineering teams on AI systems, including evaluations, model performance, latency, context management and reliability.
- A solid product management foundation gained within an established technology or software business.
- Evidence of sustained ownership, meaningful product outcomes and career progression.
- Experience taking products or significant features from zero to one.
- Strong technical understanding and the ability to challenge and collaborate with engineers.
- Confidence operating autonomously in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.
Particularly interesting backgrounds include:
- AI-native software companies or established technology businesses with sophisticated AI product teams.
- Enterprise SaaS platforms delivering complex products to external customers.
- Product Managers who have combined larger-company experience with early-stage startup or founding-team exposure.
- Experience using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or similar AI-assisted development platforms.
- A software engineering or similarly technical background.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
- Founding-level ownership: Become the company’s first dedicated Product Manager, with genuine influence over product direction.
- Cutting-edge AI: Work on production agentic AI systems rather than internal experiments or proof-of-concept projects.
- Direct founder access: Collaborate closely with an experienced, highly technical founding team.
- Enterprise impact: Build technology used by major global organisations.
- Startup environment, established backing: Enjoy the autonomy and speed of a startup with the financial and commercial support of a larger software business.
- Excellent compensation: $180,000 – $250,000 base salary.
Location
This position is based onsite in New York City, five days per week. Candidates must already be based in the NYC metropolitan area or have independently arranged a move. Relocation assistance is not available.
